Ongeri Expeditions is a Kenyan owned luxury safari company in Karen, Nairobi, founded by Abner Ongeri.
Abner grew up in Kisii, a few hours from the edge of the Maasai Mara. He watched the Great Migration cross long before the world arrived to photograph it.
It shows in the small things. Which suite catches Kilimanjaro at a quarter to seven. Which guide suits a nervous first timer. Which conservancy holds the cats in September.
We are not interpreting Kenya for you. We are from here.
We stay small on purpose. The person who designs your journey is the person who answers when you call from an airstrip at six in the morning.
Some people would rather fill something in at midnight. Others would rather talk. Both land with the same designer, and a first route comes back within 24 hours.

Our Kenya journeys start from USD 7,500 per person for a private road safari, from USD 11,000 per person for 6 days at Angama Mara, and from USD 16,450 per person for 9 days across Amboseli, the Maasai Mara and Laikipia. The price depends on the season, the camps and how you fly between them.
Our ultra luxury safaris start from USD 15,150 per person for 8 days across Angama Mara and Mara Plains Camp in the Maasai Mara, at low season rates. Our 9 Day Maasai Mara and Serengeti safari with Singita Sasakwa starts from USD 23,600 per person, and our 8 Day Tanzania Grand Circuit across 3 private concessions starts from USD 30,100 per person. Prices depend on the season and the camps.
Every journey is private and includes your camps, a private guide and vehicle, the flights and road transfers we arrange within East Africa, and park fees. Most luxury camps also include meals and game activities, and some include drinks. International flights and entry visas are not included. Your designer confirms exactly what each camp includes before you book.

The Great Migration is in the Maasai Mara from July to October. In Tanzania, the river crossings run from July to October, and the calving in the southern Serengeti runs from December to March.
Both are exceptional. Rwanda offers mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, two hours from Kigali, with journeys from USD 21,950 per person. Uganda offers gorillas in Bwindi and chimpanzees in Kibale, with journeys from USD 8,750 per person. The best months for both are June to September and December to February.

Yes. Our 12 Day Ultimate East Africa Luxury Safari is a small group journey across Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania for 6 to 12 guests, from USD 46,200 per person. Departures are in June 2027 and September 2027.
For gorilla trekking in Rwanda and the busiest Maasai Mara months, we suggest 9 to 12 months ahead, because the best camps and permits sell out first. For other months, 3 to 6 months is usually enough.
Yes. We secure permits for Volcanoes National Park as part of your journey. Permits are limited each day, so we book them as soon as you confirm.
Yes. We pair luxury safaris in Kenya and Tanzania with private island stays in Zanzibar, the Seychelles and Mauritius, such as our 9 Day Kenya and Seychelles and our 10 Day Kenya Safari and Mauritius Beach.
Yes. We plan family safaris with private vehicles, family suites and whole private villas, such as our Private Villa Family Safari in the Maasai Mara. Some camps set minimum ages, and we plan around them.
