The birthplace of safari — and the country we know more intimately than any other.

The land where safari began.

Kenya is where it all started — the word "safari" is Swahili, born of this land. Modern wildlife tourism traces its roots to the savannahs and conservancies you will travel through here, and the country remains the most considered, most varied, and in many ways most rewarding safari destination in Africa.

From our head office in Karen, Nairobi, we have spent two decades perfecting how Kenya should be experienced. We know which conservancy offers the best leopard sightings in September. We know which Mara camp's guides trained at Ol Pejeta. We know which Amboseli suite catches Kilimanjaro at 6:47am.

This is our home. And we treat every guest as if they are visiting us in it.

The variety is what makes Kenya extraordinary. In a single circuit, you might walk with elephants under Kilimanjaro one morning, track leopards along the Mara River the next, and stargaze from a rewilded Laikipia valley by week's end — each landscape distinct, each guided by masters of the craft.

Kenya's great landscapes.

Six reasons to choose Kenya first.

I.

The Great Migration

From July to October, Kenya's Masai Mara hosts the river crossings — the most dramatic wildlife event on earth.

II.

Private Conservancies

Kenya pioneered the private conservancy model. Fewer vehicles, night drives, walking safaris, and off-road access — an experience far richer than the public reserves.

III.

Big Cat Country

Lion, leopard, and cheetah — Kenya has the highest density of predators of any safari country. You will see them, and you will see them well.

IV.

World-Class Guiding

Kenya's Silver and Gold-level guides are among the most qualified in Africa. Our lodge partners employ them by default.

V.

Flawless Logistics

Nairobi's Wilson Airport is the safari world's best-connected hub. Light-aircraft circuits are seamless, and you are never more than an hour from the next landscape.

VI.

Beach Finales

Few countries let you go from a Mara sundowner to an Indian Ocean swim in under two hours. Kenya does.
