Tarangire's elephants, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the heart of the Serengeti — Tanzania's signature wildlife landscapes in one flowing circuit.
This is Tanzania's classic northern circuit, composed with the same restraint as our Kenya counterpart — four landscapes, four properties, and the kind of pacing that lets each ecosystem settle in before the next one arrives. Begin with a soft landing at Arusha Coffee Lodge, then climb into the Tanzanian highlands to follow the country's most distinctive wildlife corridors.
Two nights at Lemala Mpingo Ridge in Tarangire — hilltop views over the Tarangire River and classic elephant action below — followed by two nights at The Manor at Ngorongoro, a Cape-Dutch coffee estate with horseback riding, high tea, and easy crater access. Conclude with three nights at Lemala Nanyukie in the Central Serengeti — contemporary tented luxury near prime big-cat country, perfect year-round and with optional ballooning.
Why we love this journey — Tanzania rewards travellers who give it room. The country's parks are vast and visually distinct from one another — the baobabs of Tarangire, the highland farmland of the Crater, the endless savannah of the Serengeti — and pacing matters. This circuit gives each landscape the time it deserves.
Met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge — set on a working coffee plantation just outside town. Spacious suites, an excellent restaurant, and quiet gardens make it an ideal post-flight reset before the safari proper begins.
Private road transfer (about 2 hours) from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, with afternoon arrival at Lemala Mpingo Ridge. Two nights of game drives in Tarangire, famed for its enormous baobabs and one of Africa's largest elephant populations. The conservancy bordering the park allows for night drives (seasonally) and walking safaris not permitted within the park itself.
Private road transfer to The Manor at Ngorongoro — a Cape-Dutch-style estate set on a working coffee plantation in the Ngorongoro highlands. Two nights here include a full day's game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater itself, with options for horseback riding through the highlands, high tea on the verandah, and visits to the coffee estate.
Light-aircraft flight from Manyara airstrip to the Central Serengeti, where Lemala Nanyukie sits in prime big-cat country. Three nights of game drives across the Seronera Valley — one of the highest predator densities on the African continent. Optional sunrise balloon safari with champagne breakfast on one of the mornings.
Final morning game drive, then light-aircraft flight to Arusha for your onward connection. Direct flights to Kilimanjaro International or Zanzibar can be arranged on request.
